Egypt: The power of Pyramids and Obelisk

Egytian and the power of Obelisk

Egyptian believed in one god however, they believe that Pharaoh, the ruler of Egypt, is the only one who can communicate to god and they built large pyramids to store and protect the Pharaoh's body when he is death along with other's in the royal families because they believed that as long as the Pharaoh is protected, God is protected and society is protected, it is about sustaining the society.
Pyramid are very large and the top is point upwards towards the sky from a belief that Pharaoh can easily rise to heaven, the architecture is like 'A staircase to heaven is laid for the pharaoh ' Moreover, there is the Obelisk, which is an 'tall, four-sided, narrow tapering monument which ends in a pyramid-like shape at the top,' Obelisk is an architecture that begins on earth and ends in the sky, even though it is smaller than the pyramid, it stills keep the connections between land and the sky/heaven.
In the decline of Egypt around the first century B.C., the Obelisk's form were taken and place different countries, cities and empires after that it was taken by the Roman as well as various different places in the world like the Washington D.C. to be used as a tool that symbolised triumph.A lot of important architecture of our time are designed based on Ancient Egypt architecture such as its pyramids, temples, tombs amd obelisks.
The famous example is the Empire State building which is designed like the obelisk to symbolised power and great long history.

Also the recent famous building completed in the past decade, 2004,still has gotten it influences from the architectural form of the Ancient Egypt's obilisk.

Furthermore, Harrod, one of the world's most famous department stores building in London has an area designed to look liek an Egyptian wall with Egyptian statues, Egytian-style designs, mimicking the art and sculpture of ancient Egypt.

Moreover, the luxyrious Luxor Hotel and casino in Las Vegas was build to look like a pyramid, with a large scale statue ofa pyramid in the front of the building glazing up at the sky facing the visitor. This is to symbolized the wealth and gold laid within the pyramid of Egypt as is laid within the casino of the hotel.

It is as if Ancient Egypt Empire has grown more powerful as generations has past rather than faded away with time like many other culture and ancient culture have been. If architecture did not help emphasis the belief, more than hundred pyramids and numbers of obelisks would not have been built because it required an tremendous amount of workforce to build pyramids and obilisks where as many as 100,000 slaves worked as forced labor for decades to build the Great Pyramid at Giza. And if Architecture is not a powerful tool then the shape and meaning of pyramid and obilisk would not have been used this much around the world.
